The waves of life...

The waves of life can be unpredictable. Although we have been silent here for a bit, I’ve found myself reflecting on some familiar words that I’ve heard and read many times before. But as I’ve been spending time in different passages of Scripture lately, those words have begun to take on a deeper meaning for me.
Abide. — He is my source. Without Him, I can do nothing.
Be still. — Because He is God. He’s got this!
Trust. — I don’t have to understand the situation, but He is in control.
Wait. — His timing isn’t mine, but it is perfect. He is working… even in the silence.
Rest. — He is my Shepherd, but more importantly, He is my FATHER!!
Know. — My faith rests not in the WHY of any situation, but in knowing WHO holds me.
Perhaps that is what I am learning in this season. Faith doesn’t always give us the answers we are looking for. Sometimes it simply reminds us where to rest while we wait for them.
To abide when I want to strive.
To be still when I want to fix things.
To trust when I cannot see.
To wait when I would rather move ahead.
To rest when I am tired of carrying it.
And to know that even when I don’t understand what God is doing, I know who He is.
And through all the questions, the waiting, the silence, and the things I may never fully understand, this remains:
“For I know that my Redeemer liveth.”— Job 19:25
And for today… that is enough.

This was reassuring-
For I know that my Redeemer liveth.— Job 19:25
